Map Info: Limited is a puzzle map that will test your knowledge of Minecraft. There are 8 challenges that will test you on some of minecraft's least known mechanics. Even if you do not know some of the mechanics, there is a hint feature that will help you through the map if you are having troubles! I can almost guarantee that you will learn something from this map, as some of even Minecraft's most expert players will be unsure as to how to progress. Aim to complete the map with as few hints as possible.
Rules: You may do whatever you need to do to achieve the goal of the level! You will be in survival, so you can mine, place and craft like normal! Commands are considered cheating.

QuoteYou can use any kind of head, that's the reason for the skeleton spawner.

QuoteThis also works with skeleton heads, which is the second reason why the skeleton spawner is there.
Quoting Ninjahoood:
/gamerule randomTickSpeed . Default is three, I simply bumped it up to about 1000. I also used some command magic to make for example zombie villagers instantly convert into villagers.

QuoteMake sure there's grass around the spawner.

QuoteHe didn't make that border. Mojang did. All JUSTCAMH did was make it smaller and move it from level to level as you go on.

QuoteAre you in 1.8.9? If not, re-download the map and play it in 1.8.9

QuoteMake sure you are in 1.8. The map does not work in 1.9.
Quoting Giraffe:
Hints are there for a reason ;). I won't give any spoilers!

QuoteThe only thing that was customary modified in this map was the random tick speed. That is why the dirt doesn't hoe properly without water. Also I have not fiddled with any spawner mechanics. The first empty the cauldron level is only just dark enough to spawn the mobs. I can see what your saying with the very first level, however from then on, it was all vanilla. And even still, all I did for the first level was increase the random tick speed, which is a gamerule.

QuoteIn the first level you make it look as if farmland won't work without water. That's simply not true. Saturated farmland works better; it makes crops grow faster, but it's /not/ a necessity.
The second level makes it appear as if spawners only work in a dark (= completely sealed off) room. Once again that's not true. While zombies may only spawn in areas with limited light (from mind: 7 (or 8) and lower) this doesn't necessarily apply to spawners. Worse yet: a zombie spawner requires a certain free space before it'll work. At least a 6 x 6 area, yet in the second level even a 2 x 2 works.
This becomes more apparent in the level where you need to empty a cauldron. Now all of a sudden the skeleton spawner does work without having to seal the whole area off. That's a bit inconsistent, especially because zombie & skeleton spawners basically fall into the same category.
Now, I know I'm being a bit critical, I'm not negative. As said, the map as a whole is impressive. Controlling the world border like that is pretty slick thinking (even protects your map a bit!) and some of the other puzzles (I didn't finish the map) were very cool and did indeed force you to think about your options and use them.
But yeah; In my opinion it is important to get your facts straight if you're trying to teach people some new Minecraft tricks. Especially if you start denying an approach which would normally have worked without any issues. That's simply annoying, at least for me.
