Map Info

Inspired by the 4D platformer Miegakure, this is the world's first 4D Minecraft map.

Of course, since Minecraft is "only" 3D, just like our universe, you can only "see" the 4D figure by actually seeing 3D cross-sections of it. You can rotate the figure around planes to see it from different perspectives.

After you have understood four dimensions (which by the way you can do by watching this video), enter 20 unique four-dimensional levels that take you on an unforgettable journey through more than you have ever seen in Minecraft, which ends with a stop at the Level Editor that allows you to make your own levels.

Features

  • 20 unique 4D levels, 4 sectors and 5 levels in each!
  • A Level Editor with 5 custom level slots!
  • An Info Zone to help you understand four dimensions!
  • A most unique puzzle map!

Additional Info

This map works with 1.9 or later only. Do not use any gameplay-affecting mods while playing this map (mods like Optifine are OK). Also, try to stick to the default resource pack.

Notice: The level editor might have a few bugs (but I think it works perfectly fine).

Have fun! :)

Changelog

Notice: In the future I will probably focus on fixing other bugs, allowing Par to be edited for custom levels, as well as translations (preferably I'll start with a Quenya translation)

v1.1:

  • Fixed 'Spectator Mode' glitch.
  • Level completion now takes you back to sector hub instead of main hub. However, the 'Return to Hub' button still takes you back to the main hub.
  • Added Par (minimum number of rotations required to complete the level) for each level. Sometimes the Par that I defined might be too high. Also, editing Par is not supported for custom levels yet.
  • Added title command at the very beginning that summarizes the whole Guidebook for lazy players.
  • Secret change!

v1.0:

  • First release.

0 FankusKankus99 I have added an official walkthrough for the map. It contains all 20 levels as well as a video showing all 3 official shortcuts.
Watch it on my Youtube channel, Misotanni Studios: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CPpot-y-xM&index=1&list=PLQFDZRvnBnewfDOYkHd-x5Bw2XpMQzV-V

My render distance max is 16.

That's because you have 32 bit Java. I think the map might work with render distance 16. 18 is more of a failsafe than an actual minimum.

Check out Turing Programmer, a puzzle/sandbox map about programming! Don't worry, no redstone or command block knowledge required - in fact, no redstone or command blocks involved. You'll see for yourself.

+1 MyToad77 This is an amazing and creative map that I have seen nowhere before. I started a Let's Play on this map; however, the map broke after level 1-5. On 1-5, it would let you beat it as you spawn in the level and every level afterwards was the same level... Every level after 1-5 was the same but you fell into a pit and died without any chance to do anything, and it doesn't start on a block, but in the air beside 1. In the process of uploading a video on the problem to see fully what I mean, and I hope that this gets fixed so that I can finish playing this great map.
(I will post link with this as a quote)

I finished the map and i think it is absolutely awesome!!! I would have liked a real tutorial for understanding the scematics and how the turning mechanism works, bacause it took me quite some time to understand what was going on. Also theres a bug with the turning: sometimes it doesn't place you at the right location when you turn back to XYZ(normal) after you moved along X(the minecraft X) if you turned around ZY or moved along Z(the minecraft Z) if you turned around XY (moving on X in WYZ; moving on Z in XYW). I dont know if this is intentional, but it sucks.

That's the point, Feriixu. Moving along Minecraft-X after having rotated around ZY really means moving along W (same for Z and XY)

+1 FankusKankus99 These are the reports of glitches I've seen so far:
Quoting TBoo06:
This was fun at first, but then there was a glitch were all i did was die. I reinstalled the map 4 (4!) times and the same glitch kept on happening. I would give it a 10/10 if there wasn't that glitch.

Quoting JuanTheSquid:
There is a glitch with some levels that make it to where I can't spawn correctly and fall on the death plane. The only way I can actually get o the block is the go into gamemode 1 and be lucky enough to back up and land on the block before it resets me to adventure mode. Please fix this.

Quoting PlastaCraft0909:
really cool concept, but after 1-1 it bugged out for me, idk if anyone else had the same problem, but this is a wonderful concept.

TBoo06, could you tell me how you actually got the glitch to happen? As for the others, I don't really get them.
NOTICE: Many glitches appear simply because you did not set your Render Distance to at least 18 chunks. Before you write reports of glitches, make sure that they happened while your Render Distance was set to 18.
Also, once you tell me more about these glitches (a video is preferred), I'll make sure to fix them asap.

I'm sorry, but i really can't understand a fourth dimension. The person in the video about that game (Which BTW i will be playing) made it sound simple, but i just can't understand that in a minecraft game. The world was so colourless that i couldn't understand it at all. If maybe there had been some colour i might have been able to match some things together, but i can't. So it might just be me, but i can't understand this map enough to actually play it. Sorry!

I agree. Sorry man. This map is just really mind boggling.

+1 UserUser123 For some reason, when I rotate, the axis I chose to keep (such as the XY axis), changes, when It shouldn't. I might be getting confused on that part, but the column of blocks you are on (the same XZ coordinates, and all Y coordinates) should never change, regardless of which axis you choose to switch with W. Also, the level editor kills you. I would appreciate if after finishing a level, it would take you back to the section hub and not the main hub.
