Welcome to the Kitatcho Laboratories!

Hello there, and welcome to the infamous Kitatcho Laboratories! You are TS-03. The third-ever test subject at this facility, and today you'll be making your way through 15 of the Kitatcho Laboratories High-Tech Puzzle Chambers!

These tests will range from placing slimeballs on pressure plates, bouncing off of slime blocks, using an electrical wrench with redstone, jumping with an added boost, swimming (sometimes through lava!), and even walking on sticky surfaces that contain substances that no one really knows what they are (It's best not to think about it)!

I hope you look forward to trying out our tests, and we hope to join you at the conclusion of the testing track for our Testers Reward Program, where we hand-crafted a reward built specifically for you!

Why a reboot?

This map is a reboot of an old series me and a few friends made back in 2015 (which later got an updated version in 2017) which became one of the most popular story-driven puzzle maps for Minecraft! While I look back on the older map with fond memories, I couldn't help but think of new ways to improve it each time I went back to it.

So I've decided to reboot the series and work on the franchise again from the ground up! This time around I'm putting my all into this map and I think what me and my team managed to create is something you guys will enjoy a lot!

Features

  • 15 original chambers that progress in difficulty as you play!
  • A fully voice-acted story!
  • An original soundtrack to listen to during the puzzles (copyright free, don't worry YouTubers)!
  • A new and original texture pack to add to the immersion!
  • Lots of secrets to find during your testing adventure!
  • Slimeballs. Lots and lots of slimeballs.

Thank you!

I'd like to thank everyone again for checking out this map and playing it, as well as supporting me and my team over the years as we continue to try our best to make high-quality map experiences for you all to enjoy!

If you have any feedback, please feel free to comment on it below as I always look forward to reading what you all have to say! Even feel free to record a series of the map on YouTube, as I'll definitely check it out!

This is a version of this map I'm happy with, so I hope you all enjoy it as well! Thank you again for playing, and I hope you look forward to what me and my team have to bring in the future!

+1 jgen absolutely amazing! i really loved it, especially the redstone puzzles. puzzles aside though, i enjoyed the atmosphere and story of the map as well, especially towards the end where they get more and more unethical and youre like "uhh wait whats gonna happen to me??" the teleportation one made me wanna rip my hair out but that's on me. the only problem i had is at the end of the map, in the last chamber all transparent blocks and entities became invisible?? so i couldnt see any chests (imagine how fun that was), player heads, items etc... so that sucked. but overall amazing map!

+1 Hannah This was a great map and I had a lot of fun playing it! It was just the right amount of difficult, not too hard but not easy either. I'd definietly reccomend and I look forward to playing the next map ;)

+1 Jon5ta Loved this map! It was decently challenging all around and there were no hidden chests which is a big plus. I had a lot of fun playing especially the harder puzzles. Possibly the best singleplayer map I've ever played.

+1 Skeleblook An absolutely amazing map. Most of the time browsing this website I can't play many maps because they aren't past Minecraft version 1.11, which to my knowledge; changed how command blocks work. So when I saw how cool this map looked, and that it was in version 1.16, I was overjoyed.
Little did I know I would actually 'wait' 5 hours for the receptionist to take my order. ("wait" being "play for multiple hours of fun")
Anyway enough cringe for now. This should honestly be on the Top 10 adventure maps.
[Nice Voice Acting!]

0 orangeman2000 I apologize about the late upload of the video. I ran into some issues with YouTube so i had to redo somethings that caused it to take a bit longer then i would have liked. However it is finally up on YouTube and I would like to send a special thanks to Team Syllica for reaching out to me and letting me know about this map re-boot.

You guys can find the video over at https://youtu.be/4B9NSMZn_RA

+1 tuxedocatatonic This map was absolutely BRILLIANT. It was honestly the most fun I've had with a Minecraft map in a while, and it paid PERFECT tribute to one of my favorite game series. The voice acting was great (SO much better than some of the voice acting other maps I've played have) and I had fun solving even the most frustrating puzzles. The writing, design, everything was perfect, absolutely no complaints from me. I can't wait for the next one, I know it'll be just as great

+2 DatGamer56 Holy crap, this is hands down the BEST story-driven puzzle map I've ever seen! I can tell that this is heavily based off of Portal 2, and I love Portal 2.
I would highly recommend this map to any Portal and Minecraft fans, as well as people who love story stuff like this.
The ending is flipping amazing, and I love the easter eggs yall put in it too.
The little "abandoned" easter egg part was cool, and I wish you guys incorporated a bit more of that into the rest of the map. I don't quite get the LBR (Lost Bet Recording), but it's pretty cool nonetheless.

If Team Syllica made a chapter 2 to this, I would play it as soon as I could. Y'all are the best.

0 InfiniteLithium Hi, I'm loving the map so far!!

I found the 'secret' before chamber 05, however i accidentally placed it in an item frame and can't seem to get it back :/ is there a way to get it back or is it just stuck there forever?

-2 Pashetsu Very cool card! I advise everyone!
All puzzles are not difficult if you just think logically.
For me personally, the most difficult thing was to understand the prompts (which were not in Russian). Be sure to read the tips!
The only drawback was the blind level, where, being blind, I ran for 4 minutes until I spat and drank cheating milk to understand what was happening here.
And yet, the person who voiced the levels, did you tear your throat there? Such strange and incomprehensibl e words were (

+1 Alecopedia This was easily one of the best Minecraft maps that I've played in a while. I loved the portal 2 vibes it gave off when playing it! I also adore some of the Valve-Esque learning you had in there of show don't tell! It really made the map a lot more engaging! I can't wait for part 2 when it comes out!

Hello Team Syllica.
I wanted to ask something about whether the harder, left wing circuitry puzzle is actually solvable or not. I believe something within the puzzle is either missing or is misplaced, and was wondering if you could allude me towards the solution you had planned. I can see from the next room's door that the puzzle is likely involved with repeater locks, but these locks cannot be formed with redstone dust the way this puzzle is set up. Hope to hear back with some help here, cheers.

You don't need two repeaters to make a loop

0 EVSthename Hi, I wanted to ask about level 10. How am I supposed to progress in the level? I have the redstone and the lever, but there's nothing I can do with it. I don't have enough redstone to complete any of the puzzles, and I don't have any slime balls to activate the pressure plates. It seems like the parkour can't be solved until later, seeing as it stops me when I try it, but I don't know where to go. Can you give me a hint of what to do? Thanks

I don't know if they updated it but when I played it everything was solvable.

0 DameOfHearts This map is awesome and a lot of fun to play!!
However some of the puzzles are very challenging, I'm stuck in the last room and unsure how to find the last lever, is there a walk-through somewhere?

+1 Hollyjoy2 I can't remember which level it is, but there is a redstone puzzle that says you only need 8 pieces of redstone, but I'm having a lot of trouble figuring it out. Any hints?

0 Team Syllica Quoting Wuddge:
Is this map multiplayer compatible?

The map is designed for singleplayer only. Multiple players could cause chambers to be exploited/cheat ed, plus certain things could straight up break that weren't tested with multiple people in mind.
