Map Info: The Last Cookie is a Christmas map with the focus on the story. The player interaction is reduced to few simple puzzles that simply required to reach a certain spot or to interact with objects. This is an experience, more than a game: read the dialogues and try to understand the meaning behind the story. I hope you will find it interesting.
How to play:
- Play with render distance 3, nothing less, nothing more.
- Play with FOV 80.
- Read carefully the dialogues to understand what to do.
- Being in 1.8, you may not be able to see armorstands: if you think you should see them, exit and reenter the map.
Advice:
- If you don't know what to do, try everything: there isn't much you can do, simply observe the scene and click everywhere.
- When you receive an item, be sure to select it and to carry it to specific spots.
- Wait, the Dark will disappear.

This map gives you a smile, I liked it but it was not enough to transport my emotions. Not like, Note did.

QuoteLook I some-what agree with you, this map isn't an adventure map, but come on! Discount the genre, this is a fantastic emotional map!
If you ask me it being short is fine, sure MinecraftMaps could add a genre that has maps like this.. you said this feels like a story tell, then have it like that, No reason to get all upset to the map creator.

QuoteWell, this was an experiment, but I wanted to put more player interaction, I couldn't do it because I hadn't more time: at the beginning, I wanted to put more than 3 flashbacks and to put more player interaction in the actual map, but I simply had no time; if you see my other maps, I usually tend to make them with a lot of gameplay gimmicks, this map was a one off. My next map will have a good story and far more gameplay, but this map has been such a success that I will need to test if this type of map is actually more popular of what I do usually.

QuoteI have played Into the Depths, and it was a fantastic map. But i think you're focusing too much on the story. Given it's an adventure map, it should have some adventure, rather than just telling a story.

QuoteThe map is too short to really move everybody: you can't really form a connection with the characters, you can't start to grow fond of their story and you have no time to start thinking about what's happening next. Some people have liked the story and some even nearly cried, but I know that a lot of people won't be touched enough. This map had a lenght limit and a time limit, so it couldn't be enough for everyone. But, for me, the simple fact that it has been a success even if the only important thing of it it's the simple story means that people want a good story in Minecraft maps: most maps don't have a good story, most of them have their focus on gameplay and the plot is often bland with a final twist or simply comical. I wanted to do something different, but for this map I couldn't.
I'm planning longer maps with better stories and this map really gives me hope that it will be well received. If you want a better plot from a minecraft map, play Into The Depths. Cheers.

QuoteThis map could improve as well, its short, and didn't catch my emotions. Go ahead people. dislike.

QuoteI know what you feel, I'm actually a map maker that always want to make big maps. The problem is that most people, sadly, want a short and simple map, if it's not a CTM: you could put interesting mechanics, well thought ideas and make the map last hours, but you have to be lucky if you do so.
I'm anyway planning a map divided in episodes, I'm only afraid that it won't cause enough interest like my previous map, The power of the Pumpkin. I will do it, though, because it will have an interesting plot :)

QuoteMaking the redstone wasn't difficult, but creating the story and the dialogues was pretty though.
Glad to hear you liked it, Happy Holidays!!

Doesn't matter, mobs don't spawn and there's no way to die.
Quoting the_t_man58:
It could work in multiplayer, I'm not really sure, but trust me, you don't get anything by playing with others, this map doesn't require much interaction, you simply have to read the story.
