Map Info

Upwards is a unique and engaging puzzle map, where you have lost the ability to jump. By using intricate mechanics, you must find a way to ascend in order to reach the top. There are six advancements you can collect along the way, including four secret ones hidden throughout the custom-designed area. Explore houses, crevices, and huts to scale the terrain, using custom items, mechanics, and crafts. Solve puzzles and use your Minecraft knowledge throughout the ten levels to ascend Upwards.

This map supports any amount of players, but is best played with 1-4 players.

This map will take around 45 to 60 minutes to complete, however, with minimal puzzle maps experience, it may take longer.

If you get stuck, feel free to use this walkthrough.

Upwards was created as a part of the StickyPiston MapJam 2021 and was inspired by Mr_Moose's Expand.

-1 Fred I was able to place the black concrete powder where the ender chest is supposed to be placed (i think by applying it to the logo above the square?), thus preventing me from placing the ender chest. Hopefully this is an easy fix!

+1 Mismo Some of the puzzles were hard but overall a really good map.

+4 mamaduckie It was a decen't map but it was very confusing at times. There was no clear direction on what to do to progress further mainly because the puzzles consisted of completely random objectives. Combining items using custom crafting recipes, and then combining them by dropping them.. there was no consistency throughout the map. The map was well made and worked as it was supposed too be unfortunately the map creator seems more skilled at command blocks then they do at designing puzzles. it was worth playing though.

0 mally This map was okay :) It was well made and never broke, however the puzzles weren't straightforward and seemed completely random. The use of barriers was a bit annoying and felt like poor design. Why not just place blocks there, or build jumps to be too far to jump instead of blocking them off with barriers or glass? Additionally the gimmick of finding two unrelated items and using them to make a third unrelated item got tiring after the first few times. Overall though, it was a short and enjoyable map with an interesting premise :)
