Map Info

This is a map I've been working on for a whole year now. And it's the sequel to my map called "The Wall", which is also included with this map. If you want to play the original first (you don't have to), just get a boat and explore the lake, and you'll find it!

This is much more than just a parkour map. There are mobs (both peaceful and hostile), 10 different biomes and lots of places to visit, lots of villagers to talk to (and some to trade with), and lots and lots of chests with diamonds, emeralds, food etc. There are even a couple of minigames!

  • Normal Playtime: 2-3 hours
  • Complete Playtime: 5 hours!

Story

On a planet called "Earth", there lives a human-like creature known as a "Villager".

Villagers are excelent climbers, and love to build their houses high above the land. All around the world huge walls have been built. Some even reaching far above the clouds. On there walls the villagers build their homes. Villages, towns, and even cities.

One of the very largest walls has been infested with dangerous monsters and evil creatures. The higher up you go, the worse it gets...

Many villagers have also gone missing lately. And it's presumed that they have been captured by these evil creatures, and been brought the newly built hell fortress at the very top of the wall.

Please vanquish the evil and rescue all the villagers! They depend on you.

Rules

  • Play in 1.9, in Adventure Mode, on Normal Difficulty!
  • Make sure you are using the included resource pack!
  • Set Render Distance to 12 chunks.
  • Turn off clouds.
  • Enable the Attack Indicator.
  • Set Music to OFF (or 0), keep all other sounds ENABLED! You can control the background music with the Jukebox/Noteblock slider.
  • Always close all doors, trapdoors and gates after you! Or mobs might escape.

Tips

  • Save at the Save Points!
  • Use your Teleportation Ball to teleport back to your last Save Point.
  • Explore as mush as you possibly can!

Updates

  • Fixed some issues with the villager called "Walter".
  • The iron bars in the Mysterious Ruins didn't kill you. Fixed.
  • Igor's first "Expedition" book looked strange. Fixed.

I downloaded this map, its great. Best map ever, 1000/10. Still, it says that i need a texture pack with it but i don't know which one to use and it doesn't say the name either. Can you help? Which texture pack do i use? Can you give me a link?

It should be automatically installed. If you have the TP Ball in your inventory (and not a carrot on a stick), then it's working. You can also press the button at spawn (next to the rules) and you should hear a bell ring.

Otherwise use the "TheWall2" pack which should be included with the download.

This map looks great! I was thinking of playing it with some friends for a YouTube video, does it support multiplayer?

Yeah it should work fine. Don't be more than like 3 people though, because they way I've designed the map, it really does cause more lag if lots of people play at the same time. Also, only one player at a time on the minigames! :)

idk why but im stuck in this colored stained biome cant find anything that you may have created except for some useless redstone maybe you could give the tp coordinates to the right place

The red biome? The platforms probably aren't working. Most likely because of stupid lag! Anyway, go into creative mode and fly to the ladders at the edge of the wall that leads up to the nether biome.

Are there any diamonds in the original map behind the dark oak door? I don't feel like playing the first map again.

There is only one. In the very first chest with the sign "Free Stuff".

Idk why but this map keeps crashing my minecraft...sometimes each 10 minutes the game suddenly closes. When I get back it looks like nothing happened, but even then, it's quite a piss to keep reopening. And I've got no idea why this happens.

Honestly it might just be that your computer doesn't like it. I don't know how good your computer is, but it actually is a very demanding map. I use a customized preset that makes really tall mountains appear everywhere in the world. Unfortunately the best advice I have is to turn down your graphics settings. Most importantly the render distance.

The performance of the map actually used to be WAY worse. Mobs were lagging and moving in slow motion, eating took ages etc. I fixed it by doing some really weird and complicated things, but it doesn't change the fact that it's a "heavy" map.

-1 AlexanderHoff123 OK, so I just played through the whole map and made a video of it. It literally took 6 hours! OK, I talked a lot so that's at least part of it.

Anyway, I noticed that there are still some bugs I need to fix. Not gamebreaking by any means, but there are some. And yes, it seems like you actually can't get teleported back down from the original wall right now. They very recently changed how radius works in minecraft. I just need to change one single number and it will work. And also enchanted golden apples are very op when you get to the nether biome...

at the beginning I fell off a tree into a hole I couldn't get out of. I was stuck but went into creative to break it.

If that happens again, just right click the TP Ball (or carrot on a stick).

at the top of the first wall there is no command block to tp you back.

You actually need to get on top of the the temple, and step on the iron pressure plate. If that still doesn't work, just get into creative mode. I don't mind.

There is a door pretty close to the cave the boat race goes into. It's a dark oak door.

Huh? That's obviously not right. But I'm not sure why that would happen. It seems to be working for everyone else (I've seen a couple of videos). What happens when you try to eat?

-1 AlexanderHoff123 There were some issues with the villager named "Walter". He is inside a cave by the lake. When you rescued him he wouln't teleport home, nor would the Villager counter increase by 1. I've updated the map and it's hopefully up soon.

If you want to rescue every single villager (and get the slightly different ending), but you don't wanna start from the beginning, just type this in chat: /scoreboard players add @a Villagers 1
