Map Info

Eons ago......
A user named Cooly1234 and I made a map: An Empty Space. It was created for a map jam, hosted by Prime_Penguins (which was canceled within the week). Thanks to this, we were pressed on time during creation, and it felt rushed. It was published, and was well-received.

Today.......
A remastered version shall be published! With higher quality writing, improved maze design, and added emptiness to the space, this version is a sure improvement to the last! Created as a solo project, with no time constraints, I was able to go all out on it! Hopefully you enjoy!

The map.
This map is a unique story-based maze map, containing 5 different mazes, each with their own unique gimmick. It has quite a lot to offer, from mazes to dialogue to even existential trauma!

A couple rules:
1) Try not to cheat unless ya absolutely have to! The map is completely possible.

2) Make sure the texture pack is working! If you see sea lanterns, it isn't.

3) If you're recording, please link the map in the description!

4) Have fun!! :D

0 electriclance A nice little map! Some levels were far too hard to be entertaining, but the concept's there and it's solid.

The story is interesting, maybe a bit off.

(SPOILERS)
Something about the unknown character fighting for his life then suddenly giving up doesn't sit right with me. I like how the dialogue (and small details like the maze colors) follows the Kubler-Ross model for the stages of grief (good writing!), but the transitions are slightly sudden and jarring. Naturally written characters don't just smoothly flow into each stage, there's lots of mixing and messy parts where they sometimes go back stages or follow the stages in different orders.

There are also some plot holes that need to be addressed. Like, they have the power of creation and we don't, it would be trivially easy for them to construct an enormous maze that the player would never have time to complete, or, even easier, a block to prevent the player from ever pressing the button.

Still a nice map, though! Looking forward to your future work.

+11 Jealous Although it was a sad ending, I really enjoy the process much. I really like it and can't wait for your new map! (If I can choose the ending that would be great)

+6 Jackson Level 3 seems impossible to beat. There's this blue wool that is blocking the way and if you break it, it makes it possible. So that is possibly a mistake that needs to get fixed. Because with the blue block in the way, it impossible. Level 4 took way too long and my friend had a glitch with the blindness and completely blacked out his screen. Most likely his fault and his settings are messed up

+6 JT I tried playing this map with 4 other levels. We spent 1 hour on the 3rd maze. We had to skip it because we didn't think it's possible. Level is WAYYY too big so if you want to beat level 4, you'll need A LOT of patience. But overall, unless we see a video of level 3 being completed, we genuinely think it is impossible to complete. Other than that Levels 1,2 and 5 were solid maps
