Map Info

The farmers are desperate after a continuing draught has struck the land. The riverbeds are dry and it hasn't rained in weeks. The crops are withering and it won't be long until their livestock, and eventually the people will starve to death. It's up to you to prove yourself worthy to the gods, so that they will grant you the blessing of water and help you save the farming community.

Don't worry, the map doesn't waste much time on story and will drop you right into the puzzlesolving, dungeon pathfinding, mazerunning and bossfighting action. Use your knowledge of minecraft mechanics and skills to complete a waterflow down a set of canals and gain access to the shrine underneath the great fountain.

+1 Britjake Very Zelda-esque. I loved it. Good difficulty of puzzle so as not to be hard but still enjoyable. Well done.

+1 Jakob Overall a pretty entertaining map - you just have to get the hang of it.
At first glance, I was clueless about what to do. There weren't really any directions, just go with the flow (water pun intended). I understand that this is a style you can choose, but minor guidance of the player is often for the better.

I was able to finish the bucket puzzle without getting my hands on the third bucket. I was simply able to create an infinite water source with only two buckets. Speaking of the third bucket, how'd I even get there (the one with both a 'flow' and a 'drip' dispenser, to the right)? I genuinely wasn't able to reach it before the drips stopped. Is that just me being horrible, or was I doing it wrong?
As someone here already mentioned, the ending was kind of anticlimatic. Anything would go, even just a simple 'You received the blessing!' room with some default music thrown in. A cutscene of the village would be better to help finishing the storyline you created, though.

Despite a few issues, I was definitely entertained.
I'd rate it 4/5.

I loved the map, it was pretty difficult in some parts but it was really enjoyable. My biggest issue was in the bucket challenge. I put both ice blocks into the hopper and went to melt one and it took both so i was down a water bucket. Luckily I was able to use my other two to get the infinite water source in the bottom center area running with difficulty and fill the 3rd bucket and finish the challenge. It was very difficult which i liked compared to other maps and it was nice to have a walk through for when I got stuck. Please keep making more maps

Thank you for leaving such positive feedback on my map! I really appreciate you taking the time to comment here after playing. I will definitely make more of these, though it will take a while.

I enjoyed playing your map, although i somehow managed to not get the boss (elder-guardian) to spawn, I was killing the guardians and getting killed by them, i respawned bellow (next to the supply chest) and eventually no new guardians would spawn when i killed them, they were all already in the water bellow.

the puzzles were all really nice although it would be nice to have the goal written in the begging, like with the reservoir puzzle if you had just put up a sign saying get to the top using the streams or something like that would have been helpfull.

oh and maybe something to make people go upstairs to the cup puzzle first because i went down and did it right before the boss, although it didnt effect the map so idk if it eaven matters.

Nice map, hope you make another one.

Thank you so much Reisan! For playing my map and for taking the time to leave such detailed feedback. I am aware of the issues people have with finding the direction. I had originally intended it as part of the puzzle (finding out where to go and what to do) but I am working on a new version where I give the people what they want with a bigger pay off at the end.

The guardians going into the water is also part of my design, you are meant to go after them and kill them in the water at times (although there is a way to cheat that). I will look into the elder guardian not spawning, although none of my testers ran into that particular bug and I'm not entirely sure where to start looking for it.

Hello Delta, I'm sorry you were dissapointed in the quality of the map. Can you elaborate a bit on your findings? I'd like to know what would help you enjoy this map more. Is the lay out of the dungeon too confusing? Did you encounter game crippling bugs? Was there too much lag? Did you find yourself frustrated with the difficulty of certain challenges? Please help me make this better for you.

Great map overall! I have a few bits of constructive criticism though. Firstly, some of the puzzles were VERY vague. I had no idea what to do for the puzzle with the drip and flow dispensers for a very long time, and I finally caved and looked at the walkthrough provided to get a nudge in the right direction. It isn't that it was difficult, it's just that things weren't explained very well. For example, I had no idea what the goal was. Something to explain what the eventual solution would look like would be nice. Second, the ending was...anticlimactic. I was expecting a cutscene of the village growing crops, or an appearance from the gods that are mentioned, or something about the elder guardian I just killed, or at the very least an ending room that said "thanks for playing!" with some social media links or SOMETHING to round out the map. But it wasn't any of those. It was a single line of text that said "You receive the blessing of water!"...and that's it. The map boots you back to the room you started in if you for some reason want to play again, and it's just like...was that really all I get for going through that? A little more would be nice. Other than that, this was a terrific map!

Thank you so much! This is the kind of feedback I can really use. I will definitely work on improving the map with some extra direction and a reward system. If more people comment the way you do, all maps on here will greatly improve!

There's two rooms: one where the "code" is indicated by sea lanterns and one that has buttons to control which light turns on. Every time you press the button, the light moves to another spot. Press the buttons in such a manner that the light that is on is relatively in thesame spot as where the sea lantern is in the other room.

Awesome thank you! Great map btw!!!

where is the second room with the code?

If you swim up the small spout of water that's already in the pipe (behind the broken glass) you can hop right into that room. It's only a couple blocks up from where you enter the pipe.

How in the world do I beat the part where I have to do the pipe control with the pink, brown and cyan pipes?
