Map Info

Terra Restore 2 is a massive new 1.9 map in a new type of sub-genre, an adventure/CTM hybrid styled map. The map mixes the best elements of an adventure map along with a CTM map into a truly unique and awesome experience. You will travel the lands of Nira with your friend Exiel (an enderman) as you try to help restore the land and bring peace to it once more among the three types of species - humans, animals, and monsters. The map mostly has you in survival mode to give you freedom on how you want to do things, however it also at times throws you into adventure mode to do various challenges and other things that you can't properly do in survival mode.

This map is being released in "episodes", with each new episode containing another section of the story along with a few dungeon areas. The map is very polished and all areas currently in it are practically complete. Currently the 3rd episode is out which contains all current 9/16 dungeon areas. I release save file worlds with each new release so you don't lose progress and so you don't have to start again from the beginning.

Save file world (first 4 areas complete)
Save file world (first 7 areas complete)

If you want a map that breaks the mold of traditional maps and uses command blocks to a great degree to create awesome unique experiences then this is the map for you!

Forum page for my maps.

Please feel free to leave any feedback, suggestions, questions, issues, and bug reports that you have with the map! The more I get, the more I can improve the map to become one of the best maps of all time!

Features

Length: Roughly 11-14 hours of gameplay currently
Difficulty: Has multiple difficulty modes. Starts off fairly easy in the first couple of areas.
Players: 1-4 supported
Minecraft Version: 1.9

  • Story - Fantasy setting with character development and animated cut scenes. The setting involves the 3 groups - humans, monsters, and animals trying to strive for equality and peace even though they are very different from each other. Some monsters don't like such an idea so unfortunately some conflict starts to arise. You travel through the world, called Nira, with your friend "Exiel" an enderman. Cut scenes can be skipped if you're not interested in story.
  • Boss fights and events - Each dungeon area either ends in a boss fight or an event. The boss fights contain powerful monsters which have extra abilities powered by command blocks, they also have multiple difficulties and are not easily abused/cheesed. The events throw an objective at you that you must complete such as defend a skeleton or survive for 3 minutes. All boss fights and events set you into adventure mode and fully reset if you die.
  • Restoration - You will find a terra restore (wool block) at the end of each dungeon. On placing terra restores on the monument you will slowly start to restore the land around the area back to life. NPCs will start to pop up and fill the areas.
  • Base upgrades - In addition to restoration, you can also upgrade your base with several things such as a disco dance floor, enchantment tower, kitchen, and more! Each of which has it's own practical use.
  • Challenges - Roughly mid way through each dungeon there will be a challenge area. The goal of each challenge area is simply to get to the chest at the end. Challenges like bosses/events set you into adventure mode and can contain some slight parkour, puzzles, time elements and the likes.
  • Music - Every area in the map has a song attached to it and so do the bosses. The music will help you immerse yourself even more into the map.
  • Minigames - Every town area has at least one minigame in it. If you manage to complete them then you will gain a cool prize!
  • Towns - Towns contain NPCs, inns, shops, and more. Hostile monsters don't spawn while in such areas so they are pretty safe. Towns serve as intersections for dungeon areas and are linked to the overworld.
  • Essence currency system - Each monster you kill gives you essence. Essence can be used to purchase upgrades for your base, buy items from shops, and more!
  • Overworld and horses - The overworld connects all the towns and areas together. To help you travel through out the overworld you get access to some horses. Even though the map contains an overworld, later on areas can't be accessed until you beat previous ones.
  • Keep inventory - You don't lose your items if you die, instead you lose some of your essence and all of your levels.
  • Rare gear - The gear in the map is often unbreakable and tricky to find. On leaving a dungeon area you are told how many of said items you have found and how many are in the area.
  • Custom ability monsters - The farther you get into the map, the more monsters you will run into which have more abilities than normal.
  • Player upgrades - Later on in the map you will start to unlock ways to upgrade your character with more strength, speed, regeneration, and health.
  • Uniqueness - This map is very unique in comparison to any other map out there currently. I constantly strive to innovate in the map and show you all what Minecraft is capable of. As such the map is both in 1.9 and uses command blocks to a great degree. It will have you constantly wondering what is next!
  • Multiplayer scaling - Some parts of the map scale very slightly with the amount of players present.
  • Inspiration - The map has been heavily inspired by games such as Legend of Zelda, World of Warcraft, and Dark Cloud!
  • And much more...

-2 Yinghung If anyone wants to know where to find the epic treasure in the Ruins of Old.
You probably found moogle's journal with all the colours.
The treasure is located in the boss event room with Olive and the spiders.
Hint 1 the levers have something to do with it.
Hint 2 remind yourself about the journal where Moogle went behind the stairs.
Hint 3 think of the location of levers against the colours.

-4 Johanniklas (Although my englisch can be pretty bad sometimes you should be able to understand what i wanted to write ;))
What i really would like to see in Chunk Restore are some Bossfights where you dont just fight someone but do something like parcour to get to him first (like Doomloo in Lands of Nima 1, I keep playing the beginning of that fight in hard mode xD) or press Switches, Buttons, go on Pressure plates or else to win the fight or get to the next Phase (something like the spiderfight in the Underground village/base/wh atever its called in Terra Restore 2 but bigger). I also enjoyed the Invasion part in TR2 where you fight alongside other Mobs. And more Puzzle/Parcour Elements would be great, but you already mentioned that.

Oh and what i really would like to see either is the rest of TR2. I know you wrote you wont finish it but i really enjoyed playing it much, especially the things mentioned. It doesnt matter if you stay in 1.9.2 with it or if the map is too much combat focused and not CTM focused enough and it even doesnt matter how much time you need to finish it or to update it to the higher versions... I (and many more) just want to play it till the end, till every wool (and iron, Gold, and Diamond) is placed on the Monument. It doesnt have to be perfect, it just has to be finished

But that's just my personal opinion again.

Well, now you know mine...

However, it was pretty heartbreaking news to me when I found out that T.R. 2 was Discontinued by it's developer, Mithey...

... and Tra_kad's...

Quoting Barer of Bad News:

Terra Restore 2 is one of my favorite maps. I'm so disappointed it's being discontinued

... and Barer's... and so on.

Please, no matter how long it will take, how many maps will come before that (btw. Really excited to see Chunk Restore although i want to see the end of TR2), no matter whether it will be perfect or not, finish it!

I have a very general question for you all. What would you like to see in the new RPG map Chunk Restore, which will again be next in the series of Terra Restore? Your answer could be something you've enjoyed from other RPGs or games, or even something you'd like to see again from Terra Restore itself, or anything. Basically just lemme know what you'd like to see in general! The more I know the better I can make it!

Hey mithey, This is what I would like to see n the next map:
The survival mode in most areas was really one of the major things that sold Terra Restore to me, the different strategies you could play out by placing blocks to pillar over enemies, digging a hole and hiding in it (I did that once) is what sets it apart from the rest.
Okay no pressure, but just a note, that I think that everyone here can wait for the full release, when I play Chunk Restore, I actually would like to finish it this time (No offense), I know you have a life that was more important than finishing TR2
Oh and last time I couldn't find a link for the resource pack for multiplayer could you have a link to that in the lobby? thanks
I don't think you have to make the storyline too serious I thought it was just right in the last ones,
Possibly maybe have the player making more descisions on what he/she wants to do, right now it's like, do you want to do this? sure you do!!! you don't have any choice XD also there was absolutely no dialogue from the player. maybe it's just because I like to see my own voice, saying things that I would never usually say.
I think I would definitely like to puzzle a bit more on this, rather than just hack through endless waves of meanie-beanies, although that was truly fun too , ya know using OP weapons to hammer outlaws, or whatever, then laughing when my minecraft buddy gets slain by some random flaming spider LOL
I always take the good weapons and armour before they can...
anyway back to serious matters,
I would definitely like the thing were you can build your own house cause coming back from a long adventure and resting in a house that you built yourself (:
Maybe a few more custom potions, that you find in chests n' stuff,
The storyline was as good as a movie, so keep it up your doing great!!!
maybe look into some elytra mechanics.
All the below are just CRAZY suggestions you don't even have to look at these, let alone take em' seriously

Maybe have some multiple choice storyline??
Have a way to change between characters.
Laser beamz

I already sent another message with this stuff, but I waited and it never came up...
If the two messages came up saying about the same thing then sorry... but of course you'll never see this if it never comes through...

Yours truly: Yinghung
PS Excited to storm Chunk Restore with my friend.

I do think you can learn something about from looking around at some other open-world maps that reminded me of your Terra Restores, specifically Drobnovia Knights 1+2, as well as Across the Time (Both of which are posted on this website as well as PlanetMinecraft ) Maybe some boss ideas, some building ideas, character ideas... Otherwise I'd say don't over-do yourself Mithey: I don't wanna see another 'discontinued' sign because burned yourself out trying to put everything in one map. ;3

How about make a boss fight or a huge war like the area: The Battle For the Barrier in TR 1? I love that area so much.

I definitely loved the freedom in survival from the last map, I would like to see that in the new one. The music was definitely awesome, and (I know you're probably thinking this already) I loved coming home from the adventures to my home that I built myself, so that would be awesome! And BIG SIDE NOTE!!! I want to actually finish the story this time!!!! (no offense) love your maps mithey! #mitheymapsfore ver! what's with the random hashtag? I find it highly ironic about how Terra Restore 2 became the Top map on this website after it was discontinued...
Anyways, essay time:

Terra Restore 1 and 2 are probably the two most singularly unique adventure maps I've ever played, somewhere floating about with 'Across the Time' and 'Drobnovian Knights' for me. It set a whole new standard for me on terms of 'Complete the Monument' maps and epic storyline, as well as boss fights and story pacing. Let's start with Terra Restore (T.R) 1.

I find it strange that T.R.1 isn't posted on this website, as despite it being 'outdated' and for Minecraft 1.8 if I remember correctly, I seriously think it would pretty quickly overtake T.R. 2 on this website. It had some of the most amazing areas that I had experienced at the time due to their sheer variety. Your player goes from adventuring in a small green valley to giant caves, forwards to an ice waste land where you must scale a giant tower, to an all-out battlefield. The changing environments always kept you on your toes, and the boss fights were evenly paced so that you'd never be bored of waiting for them, and neither did they feel 'back to back'. The only negative feedback I can seriously give is that part's of the story line remain unexplained, and players may find it outdated compared to 1.11.2 standards.

And then we got this taste of what T.R 2, or as I like to call it, Terra Restore- The Prequel, could have been like. (For everyone confused: The map maker has confirmed that this map would have been, chronologically speaking, ~before~ Terra Restore 1. Confusing titles, I know) And man, just these 7 levels in this left me mentally begging for more. Everything that had made T.R.1 so great was amplified to the max in this, and then we threw in better game-mechanics in switching areas, weaponry, mini-games... Seriously, it felt like it had thought of everything. The biggest pro that I can really give it is it's universal lore: Instead of trying to make it's own fantasy universe, trying to rename zombies to orcs or something like that, it kept to the Minecraft universe terms... And just made it even more interesting. I honestly have always found it annoying when map-makers just rename every mob you see to something else, but this map took a step further from what I like and actually developed backstories to the mobs in the Minecraft universe. You don't see that everyday, and I have huge respect points for that.

However, it was pretty heartbreaking news to me when I found out that T.R. 2 was Discontinued by it's developer, Mithey...
Maybe I should make something a bit more clear: Discontinued by it's sole maker, Mithey.
From what I understand, all of the work that these players see, not only in the T.R. Duo but in all of Mithey's other maps as well: Mithey works entirely alone. I may be wrong on this, but from what I've seen of the Discontinuation thread... Mithey created ~all~ of this by himself. Most professional map-making teams that I've seen don't even make maps this ambitious or large-scale. And that is probably the single most impressive part of this map's legacy: Not the battle mechanics, not the story, not even the characters, but the fact that this work is all the product of the love and dedication from one player on Minecraft... It goes to show that the only limitation for what you want in Minecraft is your imagination.

All in all, I rate T.R. 1 a 4.5 out of 5, T.R. 2 a 5.2 out of 5, and I eagerly await this supposed 'Chunk Restore' game mentioned in other posts!

If it don't, well you may have to redownload the map. :/
