Frequently Asked Questions

How do I turn on commands in Minecraft?

In singleplayer Java, turn on Allow Commands when you create the world, or open a world to LAN with Allow Commands on, which lasts until you quit. On a server you need operator status, given from the console or by another operator with /op. On Bedrock, turn on cheats in the world settings.

How many commands are there in Minecraft?

Minecraft Java 26.3 has 89 commands. 5 more names are aliases that run the same command: /xp for /experience, /tell for /msg, /w for /msg, /tm for /teammsg, /tp for /teleport.

Why is my command too long for chat?

Java chat takes at most 256 characters. Longer commands, which give and summon commands with a lot of item or entity data often are, have to go in a command block, which holds up to 32,500 characters.

Do these generators make Bedrock commands?

Many of them have a Java and Bedrock switch and print the Bedrock syntax when you pick it. /camera, /fog and /playanimation only exist on Bedrock and have their own generators in the Bedrock only group.
