Shulker boxes never go in. A bundle inside a bundle costs 4/64 empty plus whatever it holds, and a beehive or bee nest with bees in it counts as a full bundle.

How a bundle counts its contents
A bundle has no slots. It has a weight limit of exactly one stack, and every item you put in it uses up a share of that stack equal to one divided by the item's maximum stack size. That single rule explains every number on this page.
The page shows weights in 64ths because every vanilla stack size (64, 16 and 1) divides 64 evenly, so the maths comes out in whole numbers. A 64-stackable item costs 1 unit, a 16-stackable item costs 4, and an unstackable item costs all 64. Mixed loads add up: 32 cobblestone (32 units) and 8 ender pearls (32 units) is a full bundle. When the next item would push the total past 64 the game puts in as many as still fit and leaves the rest with you.
| Item | Max stack | Weight each | Fill an empty bundle with |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cobblestone, arrows, sticks, most things | 64 | 1/64 | 64 |
| Ender pearls, snowballs, eggs, signs, buckets | 16 | 4/64 | 16 |
| Tools, weapons, armor, potions, enchanted books | 1 | 64/64 | 1 |
| An empty bundle | 1 | 4/64 plus its contents | 16 empty bundles |
| Beehive or bee nest with bees | 1 | 64/64 | 1 |
| Shulker boxes | 1 | refused | none |
Bundles inside bundles
Nesting is allowed and it never gains you space. The inner bundle costs 4 units for itself and then every unit inside it again, so a bundle holding 16 arrows takes 20 units of the outer one, more than the arrows would on their own. What nesting does buy is sorting: a bundle of redstone parts inside your building bundle stays together when you pull it out. The calculator's "Add a bundle inside" row takes how full the inner bundle is and does that sum for you.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many items fit in a bundle in Minecraft?
One full stack's worth, whatever the mix. The game gives every item a weight of its count divided by its maximum stack size and a bundle is full at a total weight of 1. So 64 cobblestone fills it, 16 ender pearls fills it, one diamond pickaxe fills it, and 32 cobblestone plus 8 ender pearls fills it too, because each of those halves is 1/2.
Can you put a bundle inside a bundle?
Yes. An empty bundle weighs 1/16 of the outer one, which is 4 of the 64 units this page shows, and anything inside it is added on top. A bundle that is half full therefore takes 36 of the outer bundle's 64 units, which is why nesting bundles saves no space and only works as a way to keep things sorted.
Why won't a shulker box go in a bundle?
The game refuses any item that cannot fit inside container items, and the only vanilla items that fail that check are shulker boxes. It is not a weight problem, so the bundle can be completely empty and a shulker box still bounces off.
How much does a beehive weigh in a bundle?
An empty beehive or bee nest is a normal block and weighs 1/64. One with bees inside counts as a full bundle on its own, the same as an unstackable item, so it goes in only when the bundle is empty.
What happens when a bundle is nearly full and I add a stack?
The bundle takes as many as fit and leaves the rest in your hand or your inventory. With 60 units used it takes 4 more cobblestone out of a stack of 64, or one ender pearl, and refuses a tool outright. The room left table on this page is that same calculation.
Is bundle capacity the same on Bedrock?
Yes for everything vanilla. Bedrock uses the same stack sizes and the same one-stack rule, so the numbers here apply to both editions.
