Survival-Horror Adventure, Vanilla in Survival game mode, “Construct” game type.
You are a crew member of a freighter spacecraft, “The Albatross”, but something went wrong. Your ship has crashed on a frozen planet and you’re lucky to be alive. Diagnostics show extensive damage to the hull and several vital components have torn away from the ship. You’ll need to collect materials, recover missing components, and repair the damage. Unfortunately, you don’t have much time. The fission reactors have become unstable and the containment shields are failing!
- Repairing equipment activates special features of the ship, including teleporters, ship shields, and the experimental Gene Splicer that combines your DNA with alien embryos.
- Expansive terrain to explore.
- Puzzling challenges to recover lost pieces of the ship. You’ll need a strong knowledge of Minecraft. Be ready for creative solutions!
- Strange phenomena peculiar to the planet, such as tremors and gravitational anomalies.
- Vanilla Minecraft version 1.10.2 (too many changes to Commands to update to 1.11+)
- Survival Mode on Normal Difficulty
- 1-6 players. “server.properties” file can be found in save folder.
- Server Properties with “allow-nether=false” (or just don’t go to the Nether… it’s not intended to be part of the experience. Nor is The End, so the stronghold portals have been dismantled.)
- Server Properties with "enable-command-block=true" (lots of command blocks in this map!)
- Server Properties with “player-idle-timeout=6”. Since there is a time element, you don’t want idle players. Just a suggestion.
Just so you aren’t too surprised when things are working weird, these are the built-in gamerules used in this map:
- doDaylightCycle is false (the planet is tidally locked)
- naturalRegeneration is false (you’ll have to find other ways to heal)
- keepInventory is true (the Albatross rescues your stuff)
- mobGriefing is false (necessary because Endermen could make final repairs practically impossible)

QuoteFunnest part of this map was blowing everything up after we beat it.
SPOILERS BELOW:
Examples: Kill a ghast? Oh by the way there's ghast eggs inside the lava!
Repair the sensors? Oh by the way it takes you ~20 minutes to get to the three waypoints, and then the ocean temple doesn't even have anything worthwhile in it! Wow!
The coolest part of the map was the glowstone area with the mines, there I really felt immersed in what was going on, but riding in the final area to see which track needed to be activated just ends up with you being smothered in a landslide of dirt when you're 35 minutes from the ship BY BOAT? And then the whole area turns out to be completely useless?? (other than creeper eggs which just make you kill yourself????) It just makes so little sense.
By the way we never got the food thing working because slime and slime blocks are nowhere to be found and grinding mobs in a cave felt like it would ruin the 'experience', which I retrospectively think was already ruined. Also the ship requires way too many iron blocks to fix and the hull sweep guaranteed fails if the antenna is on the roof in sector 2 (your model ship was built incorrectly lol).

QuoteSPOILERS
* Find the sensors - They're close to the shipwreck.
* Hit the button on the sensors - This is very tricky because you keep getting encased in ice when you get close, but you don't have to get close because it's a wooden button so you can hit it with an arrow. That teleports the piece back to the ship.
* "Mount" the sensors - After it's been teleported back to the ship, you have to climb on top of the ship and hit the button again to make it work. Then you can use the button in the cockpit to activate the sensors, which displays maps in another part of the ship.
