Welcome to Chunk Defense.
In this map, you are given a small plot of land surrounded by bedrock, and you have to make the most of it to survive while defending against 100 waves of monsters.
In between rounds, there is a shop where you can go to and exchange credits (earned by killing monsters) for various items as well as trade in various mob drops for gear.
Over time, you build up your base and fight against the waves as they increase in difficulty.
Experience many rare combinations from 40 spider jockeys at once to 6 drowned chicken jockeys with tridents.
Can you complete all 100 rounds? If so, can you do it again?
There are 9 maps to play on each with its own unique environment and challenges.
- Build your base in the style of Minecraft Survival as you make the most of the limited resources
- Fight against 100 rounds of monsters ranging from super easy to super difficult
- Buy building blocks, animals, plants, and more with credits you earn from killing monsters.
- 9 different maps to live on
- Custom advancements
- My signature Youtuber's Button makes its return
- I managed to make poisonous potatoes useful
- Invest early in your credits per kill. It will pay off massively in the long run.
- Build your base to adapt to the map you are playing on.
- Feel free to build traps, but beware that some rounds were designed to counter specific traps.
- You get three double dips. Use them wisely. Rounds 50 and 69 are great places to use them: 50 because it gives an extra 6 totems of undying and 69 because an extra 100 baby zombies can easily become an extra 500 credits with proper defenses.
- Don't forget about the drops. You can trade these in for various resources. Just remember to ensure that they are in your inventory at the end of the round.
- Exclusivity can be useful to prevent being swarmed from all four sides.
- Make use of the day period. This is when you can freely build and prepare for night.
- If you die, the map resets. If you don't like the idea of losing all your progress, make periodic backups of the map.
- This map was not tested for multiplayer, and I have no way of doing so. Multiplayer should work, but there are probably many bugs with it. In multiplayer, if any one player dies, the map resets.
v1.1: - Fixed being unable to double dip on consecutive rounds. You can still only double dip each round once. - Fixed a spelling mistake in the "Please select a map." message. - Added three new advancements: Animal Sanctuary, Quick Fighter, and Who Needs Trees? (inspired by TennHero)

QuoteI can immediately tell how much time, effort, and thought was put into it; and more of each during playtesting.
Everything is so well thought out - from the prices of the items to the complexity of the waves to the compatability of the environment with the playthrough to its ability to even be played in multiplayer! I made it quite far (level 48 I think, without making armor because I'm stupid), and despite not playing for a few days I am back on another run, and when I am done with this one I am sure I will be eager to start anew with new settings and strategies due to it's amazing replay value.
Also, to all of the people saying that the mask maker crashed the game, I have experienced that same problem especially when I do not have WiFi; I assume it is due to the game being forced to search for the skins for the heads when the villager is used.

QuoteI use them for dyes, which subsequently can be used for concrete (2 credits for sand and gravel).

QuoteLook up! There's barriers on the top of this map. A spider might've climbed on up there.

QuoteI got stuck on a couple of the spider levels as well. It took me 10ish minutes of just looking around for any mobs when i look up and see that one spider is on the roof. There is a barrier roof on the top of the bedrock and apperentley the spiders might crawl up on the walls and just get stuck on the corners of the map on the roof.
Look everywhere on the walls and on the roof everywhere like the corners.

QuoteAlthough i got stuck on the spider level for a while.
The last spider crawed onto the bedrock up to the barriers and just stayed there.
Took me like 10 min to find it.
Lol

QuoteCheck the corners. Spiders like to hide out above the map. You can also run the following command to find any stray mobs:
/effect give @e[tag=target] minecraft:glowing 60 1

5 minutes, and for some rounds such as 69, 82, and 91, you're gonna need it. Also, you can't get all the advancements in a single run because there's a different advancement for completing each of the nine maps, an advancement for completing all of them, and an advancement for winning four times in a row without dying.

QuoteThe only potential issue I noted was that joining players get stuck inside the display case at the beginning at least until another player hits the Start button at the beginning or starts another round from the shop area.
Seems to work fine otherwise, and the issue above didn't cause any problems. It seems fair enough to expect joining players to wait until the next round, especially as placing them into the spawn cage during a round could be deadly.

QuoteThe mask maker only sells player heads for various youtubers, me, and Notch in exchange for phantom membranes. When I first try to trade with him, he lags out for a bit as all the heads load.
Quoting User:
Yes. In fact to earn the Impatient Fighter advancement, you kinda have to. Perhaps I'll add an advancement for completing all rounds quickly. As I release updates that fix bugs people find, I am likely to add more advancements for completing the map with special conditions.
