Differences are computed from the extracted registries by ID, so a renamed entry shows as one removed and one added. Registries that did not exist in one of the versions are left out of the comparison.
Pick two versions and this tool lists every item, block, mob, enchantment, effect, biome, structure, painting and damage type that was added or removed between them, straight from the game's registries. It is the fastest way to see exactly what an update introduced without reading through full patch notes.
Each registry is compared by internal ID, so the results are exact: if a block exists in the newer version but not the older one, it is added; if it existed before and is gone, it is removed. A rename shows up as both, which makes reorganisations easy to spot.
Categories are sorted with the biggest changes first, so the headline additions of an update are right at the top. Expand any registry to see the full list of names.
The tool covers versions from 1.14 up to the latest snapshot. Because the data is the real extracted registry rather than a summary, it catches the small additions that patch notes sometimes skip, like a new variant block, a new damage type or a quietly added painting.
Older versions have fewer registries, since some categories did not exist yet. When a registry is missing from one of your two versions, the tool leaves it out of the comparison rather than reporting an entire category as new.
