Map Info: "The Gauntlet" is a 1 to 2 player map with a 20 room long dungeon that is generated randomly, allowing for different gameplay each time. You can re-generate the map without redownloading, and there are more rooms than you see in one play through, so you can play many times and see new things every time.
Your goal is to reach the end of the dungeon without dying from monsters or traps, and gather loot and food from hidden chests within the rooms. Monsters spawn more frequently the farther in you get, so the dungeon gets progressively harder no matter what order it is in. Also, extra hard boss mobs spawn within certain rooms. Killing them will give the best items.
Within, you will find dangerous monsters, puzzles, riddles, mazes, parkour and bosses. Ready yourself, if you are unprepared you will die.
Features:
- Randomly generated dungeon, over 10 thousand possibilities.
- Different difficulty options.
- Hidden loot chests.
- Made for 1-2 players.
Warnings:
- Render distance 32 is REQUIRED while the dungeon is generating. You will have to redownload the map if you have anything less. (The map is in a void world, so lag is not an issue with the large render distance).
- Click the generate button and the play button only once, and only click play when the generation is complete. (Spamming these buttons will confuse the command blocks and probably break the map.)
- Play on adventure mode and let the map change all the settings. Don't change difficulty yourself.

Heh, I hope it will be. I came up with so many new ideas that I started rebuilding it from scratch, after being about 20% done with the second map. I think the delay will be worth the new features I'm working on. My goal: The Gauntlet 2 will have a five star rating on this download page!

QuoteI'm glad you like it.
Unfortunately, I am not going to be updating this for 1.9. However, The Gauntlet 2 will be compatible with 1.10 (I assume you commented this before 1.10 was released), and will be released hopefully by the end of August. (It depends on how much I work on it though.) If you want up to date information about the Gauntlet 2, you can visit my YouTube channel.

QuoteAre you running optifine? Sometimes that causes problems. Other than that, I don't actually know.
The Gauntlet 2 has fixed most of this problem. Sorry I can't help you more than this.

Thanks, I'm glad you had fun with it! If you really want to help me out, share the map with your friends!
Also, iruleoverkitten s, I think what you said was a joke, but just to clarify, I am The Mad Villager, (a title) and my name is Epic_Cow_Cheese . Only one person made the map. But that includes my alternate personas! ;)

QuoteI'm unfortunately limited in the effective ways to expand the room size, but the timer is actually something that is planned to be implemented in The Gauntlet 2 already, it's on my list!

QuoteYeah, that's the meanest room I created. But it's not a bug. The answer to the riddle is YOU. Just parkour around the edges. The whole thing is just a trick question. Whatever cruel being made that riddle was just trying to get you killed.

QuoteJust put it at whatever max you have.
Also, I'm pretty sure it's actually the other way around, (I don't have optifine and I have render distance 32) but optifine with the 16 max actually just means 16 in both directions, which is the same as 32 without optifine. (Which is 32 total). So it will still work. The Gauntlet 2 will hopefully have less render requirements.

QuoteSo, I can't help you with that. I built the map on top of world spawn, so that shouldn't happen. Try re-downloading the map, the file might have been corrupted. What did the world you spawn in look like?

QuoteIt shouldn't take more than a minute to generate, and it should display progress percentage in the chat. Make sure you have render distance 32 while it's generating, if you have less, it will never finish, which sounds like what happened with you. (/fill can only place blocks within render distance). You will have to re-download the map in order to get it to work since the command blocks are now stuck.
-Epic_Cow_Cheese
Comment again if that doesn't fix the issue.
