Map Info

If one day you woke up in an abandoned prison cell having no idea how you got there or where to go... in Minecraft, would you know what to do?

I didn't think so...

So play this adventure map to help prepare for that exact situation, so that if that ever happened, you would know precisely what to do. :D

This map contains a variety of challenges, from puzzles to basic parkour and even PvE. It will require you to already know a little about the game, such as using trapdoors to crawl and renaming items, but other than that, anyone will be able to play it

For anyone who gets stuck, or simply does not have time to finish the map, the link to the walkthrough is below:

Kingdom Fall - Part 1 - YouTube

Please let me know by commenting on this map if you got stuck at any point and what you thought of this map so I can work to improve it, and make part II even better! If you hated this map, let me know why!  :) thx

Changelog

v1.1:
- Fixed all known bugs. (Both major and minor) This update should fix all technical issues with the map that I have come across myself and in the comments.

+1 T The map was a bit subpar. While there wasn't anything horribly wrong with the escape room, some puzzles were so obscure (such as the arrow-target room,) that I had to watch the walkthrough, and others (such as a few crawling puzzles) relied on the game not working correctly just enough that you could get through. This ruined the flow of the game and made parts more frustrating than challenging. There were definitely some parts that did make me feel smart (such as the parkour/climbin g portion of the arrow room, and some of the crawling puzzles,) but the map can be improved dramatically. Some parts of the environment need to be cut out, leaving only what is needed and what can subtly guide the player, and removing extra rooms that have no purpose. Other than that, I did actually enjoy the aesthetic of the map, despite some parts being a bit too chaotic. (Mostly the beginning and end which had some parts that were difficult to navigate.) Either way, I think you can still dramatically improve! Good job, I can tell lots of love went into this build.

This was a very poorly made map. It nearly crashed my computer when the command blocks malfunctioned at the end. 90% of the puzzles involved entering the 'crawling' state and it got old very quickly. This is an escape room that quickly ends without evening being able to escape it. There was no creativity that went into this and isn't worth your time playing it.

Thanks for the feedback.
Firstly, the map wasn't designed to be overly aesthetic, it's set in an abandoned castle after all... The uniqueness comes from the variety of uses of the crawling mechanic that I have not seen other maps use in the same way I did.
If you thought the command block malfunctioned at the end because of the number of zombies, there were supposed to be that many (150 - 250).

Secondly, If it was not worth playing... why did you do it all the way to the end lmao :D

I understand that this is not a typical escape map that you have come to expect. I do think that I overused the crawling mechanic a little to much, but I tried to make these puzzles more movement based and intuitive, unlike the seemingly random puzzles in some other maps.
With the zombies, there were supposed to be as many as there was (around 150-250) and as of the spawning outside the map, I have no idea why this happened and was unlikely due to a bug with the map.

Really good map i really recomend it. It has a quite medium difficulty of puzzles and also has an impreasive decoration and quite good mecanics
also it has some custom music and sounds and some screamers but not really frightening.
It is such a good map. Congratulations for the map maker. :3

Thank you for the feedback!
There were actually no custom sounds however, everything is vanilla. I used some of the more rare sounds in Minecraft and overplayed or pitched them up / down to make it sound different.

It's a neat map, but the amount of trap doors used in some situations is a bit too much. The ominous, the dark lighting (I avoided the no optifine rule since I need it for video recording), and some spook factors if you're not really expecting them if you are rushing the map or have your guard down.

There was an issue with the bow and arrow room where you can get stuck. I'm not sure what's the intended method but we looked everywhere yet nothing. We saw the target block above the door and thought that was the way out, but it didn't function whatsoever.

Another issue was the area with the room with the book on the lectern and you need the passcode to progress. We spent ages trying to figure out the passcode but it did not make any sense. This part didn't make sense or lead us anywhere on how to get the answer.

Other than that, can't wait for part 2. Would be appreciated that you don't make super hard trap door mechanics so average players can get through. Was already hard enough with trap door of opening/closing and jumping a one block gap. Those are frustrating as is.

Thanks, I appreciate your feedback!
I definitely agree that there are a few too many trapdoors, although I do think it was a unique gimmick, as not many other maps use it to the same extent. Make sure to check the walkthrough on this page to find out solutions to any puzzle you are stuck with. :)

-5 mallary This map was not enjoyable. I spawned outside of the hub and had to search for it myself. There was no puzzle aspect. The main mechanic was opening and closing trapdoors to 'crawl', and this was literally all you did the entire map besides write a code on a paper and press a few buttons. At the end, a mechanic broke causing THOUSANDS of zombies to spawn which was loud and a bit rough on my computer. The decoration was lackluster and besides three occasions of full volume lightning right next to your player, there was no interesting sound.

I'm stuck in the room with the bows and arrows. What should I do

You can shoot the arrow on the wooden pressure plate outside through the gap in the iron door and the iron bars

This was an incredibly neat map. The puzzles were good. Even when I felt stuck I used every piece of Minecraft knowledge I have and I managed to complete the puzzles. The lack of any texts or messages made the map feel more ominous but also very interesting at the same time. I can't wait for part 2. Looking forward to it!

Thanks! :)

Was I supposed to be able to reach something through the trapdoor in the wall where you start the map? Because I can't and it won't let me in creative mode to break a block so I can reach.

Hey! At no point during the map do you ever have to go back and get something you missed, it won't let you pass without all the items you need. (although if you do lose your items for example, you might not be able to progress)
