Map Info

Tate Worlds are exciting Minecraft maps that present virtual environments inspired by artworks from the Tate gallery’s collection.

Players can explore a range of paintings and sculpture, undertaking various activities and challenges that relate to the themes or stories behind the artworks.

Tate has teamed up with some of Minecraft's best known mapmakers to create these virtual artworks, offering a unique combination of art, history and adventure.

Tate Worlds: Soul of the Soulless City

New York in the 1920s was a bustling and fast-changing place. Its emerging skyscrapers and railways epitomised the dynamism of the modern metropolis, inspiring British artist Christopher Nevinson to paint his Futurist-style painting Soul of the Soulless City in 1920.

On entering the Tate Worlds map, you will board a train taking you past some of those landmarks that Nevinson would have seen, before you roller-coast into the future as the skyscrapers go up and up.

Additional Info

Tate Worlds is a collaboration between Tate galleries, London and The Common People: Adam Clarke, Lead Artist and Producer, with Map maker: Dragnoz and Minecraft builders: Kupo, Featherblade and Tewkesape.

0 Space guy I looked at this and it was cool. I just think you should make the next map bigger. But it was still a good map. Also I like the builds.

+14 KILLERROBOT99 I was expecting something like your first map, a long adventure through the world of the painting on how it was created. This map looked beautiful but it was just way to short. There was 2 interactive portions that to me made no interaction to the painting the map was about. It mostly talked about the year of 1920s not the painting like the first one. Just my opinion but it was way to long for such a detailed map creation.

Great map, just make it a bit longer and maybe use a resource pack?

They do use a pack. There's a feature in 1.8 that if you put the resource pack in a save then (in singleplayer) you see the resource pack's effects. In multiplayer, though, you have install the resource pack.
