Map Info

The Legend of the Blue Tide - Episode I: The Myrefall Flats

'Tis a normal day to do the normal routine and life a normal life. Your island, the farm, and the animals are all normal. The dock with the unfinished boat you planned to make when you were young is still unfinished.

All this normality has urged you to do something adventurous and, thus, sail away with no plan nor idea where you will end up.Once you let destiny take the wheel, however, you begin to question and wonder about the world.

Why am I here? Why is the Citadel so important? What mysteries lie within Myrefall? These are just some of the many questions you will have on your journey through this desolate village.

The Legend of the Blue Tide is a series devoted to uncovering these secrets. Throughout the series, the player will travel through different lands, meet different people, and most of all, find out what the Blue Tide is.

Episode I: The Myrefall Flats opens the eyes of the player to the world around him/her and shows him/her that it is not always what meets the eye. There will be moments when there is no clear lead nor hint as to what the next step is — the player will have to think outside of the box to solve the quests with what little guidance he/she is given.

This adventure map is a challenge to the player yet a thrill ride through cave systems, abandoned mines, deadly swamps, and much more.

Additional Info

  • This map is a naturally-generated world which has been updated to the standards of Minecraft 1.12.X.
  • This map is in English; however, there are a few Spanish conversations which have to be translated.
  • Recommended FOV: 100 or less
  • All conversations between the player and a villager start with a Stone Button on top of a Gold Block.
  • It is recommended that the player sleep the beds located throughout Myrefall to set his/her spawn.
  • keepInventory is enabled, so don't worry if you die here and there.
  • The end of this map is when you enter the Citadel. Each of the episodes to come will extend and move forward upon the previous. (The next episode will start in the Citadel where you will end).
  • If you are stumped, please comment on this post and I will help you out. (Some solutions to problems are a little more obscure than others).
  • We highly recommend exploring and visiting every building and villager in Myrefall as what you may find will be essential to completing the map.
  • STAY TO THE STORY!!! DO NOT WANDER OFF INTO PLACES WITHOUT FOLLOWING WHAT EVERY VILLAGER SAYS!!!

Rules

(some are repeated within the map).

  • This map is Singleplayer only!
  • You are in Adventure Mode; you cannot break/place anything without specific items.
  • Any food you find on your journey can and should be eaten.
  • You may trade with any Villager that doesn't have Barrier trades.
  • If you find any signs that say "Control Room", leave it/them be.
  • Follow the conversations and carefully read through them.
  • Emeralds are the map's currency. Any you find you should keep.
  • Remember to lock the difficulty on Easy, Normal, or Hard.
  • Remember: You will not be walked through this map — use your logic and intuition to figure out what to do next.
  • If you do a "Let's Play" on this map (highly encouraged) please accommodate/reference the creators: ESand, NikitaFajita.

**Spoiler alert**** I'm stuck. I've found three of the items needed to unlock the citadel, but still need the one in the library. I've gotten all the levers except the one beneath the streets. I'm pretty sure its accessed from Moonbeam's grave, but I have no idea how to open the trapdoor.
Thanks for making this map. I really like the open ended nature rather than maps where you must do things in a very specific order. My only complaints are that the parkour sections are a little to hard, and there are several places where by mining ores you can get stuck.

[SPOILERS]
1. You should notice that the grave is made from stone bricks and that there is a single redstone torch on it. There may be something you can purchase from the bazaar that you could place on the grave to let you inside...

2. You're very welcome LighttronPrime! It was my pleasure to create something that sways from the norm of adventure maps in that it is open-ended and lets the player think for him/herself. Also, once 1.13 is officially released, we plan to release Episode 2 with even more tricks and puzzles!

3. For the parkour, we wanted to make it not too difficult that it would take you hours to get through and not too easy that would take you 10 seconds. It is a little on the challenging side but that's just the way we created it. For the ores, that was one of the things we forgot to fix and only realized it after the fact. If we have ores in the next episodes, we'll be sure to make sure you won't get stuck!

Help! I've gotten the hoe for Farmer Joe but he hasn't accepted it. I think he's supposed to turn into a villager. I have no clue what to do.. Please help and respond to me. Thanks

You should be able to trade the hoe with Joe. If you did and it still isn't working, then you may have accidentally used the hoe which he will not accept.

How do u get the gemstone and Witch's brew?

[SPOILERS] Didn’t someone say that Moonbeam found one relic and kept it in a small cellar in his house? And didn’t someone else say that one relic lies North upon the Magic Isles?

I can't find Root Of The Myrfall Flats and I searched for 1 hour. Where is it? Can you say?

[SPOILERS] The Root lies within the Library, so you need to get The Bibliotec first. This poem contains hints to the locations of three levers that, when pulled, may give you access to the library.

{{{HEAVY SPOILERS}}} I finally finished the map, without taking any hints. I'm pretty sure I solved it in the weirdest way possible. I found the levers before I bought the book. I didn't talk to Rube until after I found 3 of 4 of the relics, and he didn't even tell me where the 4th one was. I was just about to concede and go for a hint, when I fell down and saw the terracotta that signified a secret entrance to the caverns. Then it took me another 30 minutes to find the door (i found the spiders right away). Ended the game with 3 stacks of emeralds xD.

Dang impressive ChronicleHunter ! I'm pretty sure even when NikitaFajita and I finished the map we both had nowhere near 3 stacks of emeralds lol! And don't fret, once 1.13 is released we will begin working on Episode 2 with even more story, puzzles, and challenges to come!

where i need to go after pull all 3 levers..?

The name of the book directly translates to something. Check the entrance to that something...

im stuck while searching for last lever, where is this moonbeam cave is..? i found one at lava, and another ones is at mine behind bazaar.i stuck for 30 mins just for searching the last lever

[SPOILERS]
The Biblioteca says “the final may lay beneath the main road”. Isn’t there some structure directly related to Moonbeam that is in the middle of the main road/path of Myrefall? Also notice that it is entirely made of one particular block and that there is a red stone torch on it, you may need to place something there...

[SPOILERS]
By "mineshaft" are you talking about the one with the entrance that says "keep this cave sacred" or the mine next to the bazaar? If you are talking about the first one, there are no levers in there, only "keys" to open a metal door. If you are talking about the latter, then look at the end of the small cave from breaking the terracotta and you should notice a redstone torch above a stone brick. There may be something you can place there that you can buy...

Oh... that may explain it...

Don't worry Centreel, we will be working on small issues like this for the next episodes to make the player experience ever more clean and great!

Finished the map! Only used 1 hint from the page here. Getting to the lever *SPOILER AHEAD* under the zombie spawner was super hard to figure out for me. Loved the adventure/puzzle style.

Thanks Cluba132! NikitaFajita and I were really going for a different style of map that doesn't directly guide the player and lets them make their own decisions and thinking outside the box. Also, we have ideas for the next few installments of this series so, once 1.13 is released, we will begin piecing them together and hopefully release them on MinecraftMaps!

I usually have great patience with puzzles, but the lever down in the mineshaft really has me defeated. The "hint" tells me it's near lava, but I've searched all passages and tunnels connected to the part with the lava, and it's nowhere to be seen. Other than that, I really luke this map.

When you obtain Ol' Sue you shouldn't use it to break something because 1) it isn't yours to use — you're getting it for the sole purpose of getting the Sail Strips and 2) you can trade an emerald with Joe to get a hoe that you can use (aka the Harvester).

Should have thought of number 1 but i didn't check what he trades so I didn't know he gives the harvester,

I assume you have already gotten The Bibliotec. This poem gives you hints as to where all 3 levers are. If you aimlessly found one of the levers w/o the poem then you should purchase The Biblotec (you will need it anyway once you find all 3 levers).

On top of this, explore all the trade options in Myrefall. Highlight over the wares to see if certain blocks can be placed on certain surafces.

There shouldn’t be a Cavernous Spider spawner that you can break, they should just spawn naturally in that area. As for the Root, you should notice a small building next to the Citadel which may be useful.

[SPOILERS]
I will agree that the entire mineshaft section of the map is very daunting and probably one of the hardest parts. The spider spawned is located somewhere to the left of where you first enter the cave. You should see a slightly darkened part of the shaft with a sign warning you of the spiders...
